Privacy notice

Last updated August 2026. Plain English, and shorter than most.

This notice covers the CorePaw Pro website and the CorePaw Pro app. CorePaw Pro is operated by Steony Ltd (“we”, “us”), registered in England and Wales, company number 17274192, registered office 128 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX, United Kingdom. We are the data controller for the personal data described below, except where this notice says otherwise.

Who is responsible for what

This is the part that matters most, and it is worth stating first.

For your own account — your name, email, business details, subscription — we are the controller. We decide what to collect and why.

For your clients’ personal data — their names, addresses, phone numbers, their pets’ details and the records you make about the work you do for them — your business is the controller and we are a processor acting on your instructions. You decide what to record about your clients; we hold it for you and process it to run the app. That means your business is responsible for having a lawful basis to hold it, for telling your clients what you hold, and for answering their requests. We will help you do that.

Where a pet owner uses CorePaw for their own animal, they are also a user in their own right, and their own record of their pet is theirs.

What we collect

From you, the business

  • Your name, email address and, if you give it, your phone number and address
  • Your business name, logo, address, contact details, VAT number and UTR where you enter them
  • Your bank details, PayPal address or payment link where you enter them for printing on your invoices
  • Your subscription status. Payment is taken by Apple or Google through in-app purchase — we never see your card details
  • Technical information needed to run the app: device push tokens, error reports, and the timings of syncs

About your clients and their pets, entered by you

  • Client name, address, phone, email and emergency contact
  • Pickup and access instructions, feeding and care instructions
  • Pet details: name, species, breed, age, sex, photo, handling and safety notes, vet practice
  • Health information where the owner has granted your business access to it
  • The work you do: bookings, walks and visits, GPS routes, timestamps, logged events, photos and notes
  • Invoices, payments and the messages exchanged with that client

From this website

  • What you type into the contact form or the sign-up form, so we can reply and set you up
  • Standard server logs kept by our host for security and troubleshooting

This website sets no analytics or advertising cookies, runs no third-party trackers, and does not need a cookie banner because it does not do the thing cookie banners exist to disclose. If that ever changes, we will ask first and say what it is for.

Location data

The app records your device’s location while you are recording a walk or visit, including in the background so tracking continues with the phone in your pocket. It does this to produce the route, distance and duration on the job record and the owner’s report. It does not track you between jobs, and location recording stops when the job ends. Your phone will ask your permission before any of this happens, and you can withdraw it in your device settings — the app still works, without routes.

Why we process it, and on what basis

  • To provide the app you asked for — performance of our contract with you
  • To process your clients’ data — on your instructions, as your processor
  • To keep the service secure and working, and to answer support requests — our legitimate interests
  • To send you service emails about your account, your trial and your invoices — contract and legitimate interests
  • To keep financial records — legal obligation

Who we share it with

We use a small number of service providers to run the app, and nothing else:

  • A cloud database and storage provider, which hosts the data
  • An email delivery provider, which sends your reports and invoices
  • A subscription management provider, and Apple or Google, which handle payment
  • A language model provider, used solely to word the report from the facts you logged. It is given counts and timestamps — never your photos, and never your clients’ contact details

We do not sell personal data, we do not share it for advertising, and we do not pass your client list to anyone. There is no marketplace here that could compete with you for your own customers.

Where it is held

Data is held on servers in the UK or the European Economic Area where our providers offer it, and where a provider processes data outside that area it is covered by the safeguards UK data protection law requires.

How long we keep it

  • Your account and business data — while your account exists, and for a short period afterwards in backups
  • Client and pet data — for as long as you keep the client. When a client relationship ends, your access to their private information ends with it
  • Invoices and payment records — kept for the period UK tax law requires, because they are financial records
  • Photos and media — full-resolution media is held for a limited period and then thumbnails are kept; the app tells you the current policy
  • Website enquiries — kept while we are dealing with them and for a reasonable period afterwards

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, object to processing, or ask for it in a portable form. Email hello@corepaw.co.uk and we will respond within one month.

If one of your clients asks you to exercise those rights over data you hold about them, that request is yours to answer as the controller — write to us and we will give you what you need to answer it.

You can delete your account and its data yourself — see Delete account.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk. We would rather you told us first, so we can put it right.

Changes

If this notice changes in a way that affects you, we will tell you in the app or by email rather than quietly updating the date at the top.
